Moving forward through the neutral zone

about

This is the practice for our first live performance, which was at the Gypsy house cafe (now gone) in Denver, CO which happened on March 9, 2013.

This rehearsal was recorded on March 7th, and really consists of two different drum machine beats that we constructed that are in the same key, with a break in the middle - which we jammed over while manipulating elements of the beat as well. Some of the bits, the riffs here and there, we had played before so it's not totally improvised, but was very fluid and rarely the same twice.

The second half of this performance eventually became our song "Moving Forward, Looking Back" (hence the title) but at the time, the song was called "the neutral zone" (many of our song titles from the time were references to science fiction shows)
